How do I create a DossiMed account?

Download the app from Google Play, then create an account with your email and a password. It is free and only takes a few seconds. No bank card is required for the free version. App Store availability is planned for the future.

Is the app free?

Yes. DossiMed offers a free version that lets you scan prescriptions, manage up to two family profiles, and receive push reminders. Premium unlocks advanced features such as WhatsApp and voice reminders, unlimited profiles, and PDF export.

On which devices is DossiMed available?

DossiMed is currently available on Android (8.0 or later) via Google Play Store. Availability on iOS (iPhone and iPad from iOS 14) is planned for the future. An Internet connection is required for scanning and reminders.

Does the app work offline?

You can view prescriptions and documents already saved while offline. However, scanning new prescriptions, reminders, and sharing with doctors require an Internet connection.

Can I use DossiMed on multiple devices?

Yes. Sign in with the same email on all your devices (iPhone, iPad, Android tablet). Your data syncs automatically. For security reasons you can only be logged in on one device at a time.

What types of documents can I scan?

You can scan medical prescriptions, lab reports, radiology reports, ultrasound, MRI and CT scans, medical certificates, and other medical documents. AI automatically recognizes the document type and extracts relevant information.

How do I scan a prescription?

Tap the Scan icon in the navigation bar, take a clear photo of your prescription (the app detects edges automatically), or import an existing file from your gallery. AI processes the document in about 5–10 seconds and extracts medications, dosages, and instructions.

Does the AI recognize doctors’ handwriting?

Yes. Our OCR powered by Azure Document Intelligence is trained to read handwritten prescriptions, including difficult handwriting. If the AI makes a mistake, you can always correct the extracted information manually.

Can I edit the information extracted by the AI?

Yes. All extracted data is editable. If something is wrong (drug name, dosage, dates), you can fix it directly in the app. Your changes are saved automatically.

How many prescriptions can I store?

Free version: up to 30 documents in total (including attachments). Premium: unlimited storage for prescriptions and medical documents.

Are photos or scans compressed? Will I lose quality?

We apply smart compression that reduces file size without visible loss of quality. Documents stay easy to read. If you need original quality, you can import PDFs or high-resolution images.

Can I import PDFs or only take photos?

Both. Use the camera to scan, or import PDFs and JPG or PNG images from your gallery or files. AI processes all formats the same way.

How do I add a family member?

Go to Account > Family profiles > Add profile. Enter name, relationship (parent, child, partner), date of birth, and gender. Each profile has its own medical record. Free version: two profiles maximum. Premium: unlimited.

Free version: up to two profiles (you plus one other person). Premium: unlimited profiles. You can manage your whole family in one app.

Are family profiles kept separate?

Yes. Each profile has its own medical record, prescriptions, reminders, and notification settings. You can switch profiles with one tap.

Can I share DossiMed access with my partner?

No—for security, each account is personal and tied to one user. You can create a profile for your partner in your account and manage their documents. If they want their own account, they need a separate account with their own email.

How do I delete a family profile?

Go to Account > Family profiles, select the profile, then Delete profile. This removes that profile’s prescriptions and documents and may be irreversible depending on how deletion is processed.

How do medication reminders work?

DossiMed builds a treatment calendar from your prescriptions automatically. You receive push notifications at the times you configure (morning, midday, evening). With Premium you can also get WhatsApp or voice reminders if you do not confirm the push notification.

Can I customize reminder times?

Yes. Go to Account > Notifications to set preferred times for morning, midday, and evening. You can also turn reminders on or off for each family profile.

What is reminder escalation (Premium)?

If you do not confirm that you took your medication after a push notification within the delay you set (30 minutes by default), DossiMed can send a WhatsApp reminder automatically. If there is still no response, a voice call may be placed as a last step. You can configure or disable each step.

Do voice reminders speak Arabic?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AI voice calls are available in French, dialectal Arabic (Tunisian and Moroccan), Modern Standard Arabic, and English. You can choose the preferred language per family profile—helpful for relatives who do not speak French.

I did not receive a notification—what should I do?

Check that notifications are enabled in your phone settings (Settings > Notifications > DossiMed). Make sure the app is not restricted by battery saving. If the problem continues, reinstall the app and contact support.

Can I turn off reminders temporarily (holiday or travel)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Account > Notifications and turn off active reminders. You can also disable reminders for one profile. Remember to turn them back on when you return.

Are WhatsApp reminders free?

WhatsApp reminders are a Premium feature (2.99 USD per month). The free version includes push notifications only. To use WhatsApp, subscribe to Premium and add your phone number in notification settings.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on secure Supabase servers in Europe. Prescription images are kept in a private bucket with encryption. We use Azure in Europe for AI and OCR. We apply technical and organizational measures to protect confidentiality.

Who can see my medical data?

Access to your data is strictly limited. Our technical team does not access it in normal operations without your explicit consent. Exceptions may apply—for example if you share a secure link or when the law requires it.

Does DossiMed sell my data to labs or insurers?

We do not sell your personal or medical data to third parties such as labs, insurers, or advertisers. Our model is based mainly on Premium subscriptions, with privacy safeguards for your information.

What if I lose my phone?

Your data stays safe in the cloud. Sign in with your email and password on a new phone to recover everything. If you fear unauthorized access, change your password immediately from another device using Forgot password.

How do I permanently delete my account and data?

Go to Account > Settings > Delete my account. This starts deletion of your account and related data (prescriptions, profiles, reminders). You will receive a confirmation email. If you have an active Premium subscription, cancel it first.

In which languages is the app available?

The interface is available in French, Arabic (full right-to-left support), and English. Change the language in Account > Settings > Language. AI voice reminders are also available in these three languages.

Can the AI read prescriptions in Arabic?

Today our OCR is optimized for French and English. Arabic support (handwritten and printed) is in development for a future update. You can still scan Arabic prescriptions but may need to correct extracted fields manually.

Is there a dark mode?

Dark mode is in development and will be added in a future update. For now the app uses a light theme optimized for reading medical documents.

The app crashes or closes by itself—what should I do?

1) Update to the latest version from the Play Store or App Store. 2) Restart your phone. 3) Uninstall and reinstall the app—your data remains in the cloud. 4) If it continues, email contact@dossimed.ai with your device model and OS version.

Why can’t the AI read my prescription?

Common causes: blurry photo, poor lighting, crumpled paper, or very hard-to-read handwriting. Retake the photo in good light with the document flat and in focus. If it still fails, you can enter details manually.

I can’t sign in—incorrect email or password

Check the email has no extra spaces. If you forgot your password, use Forgot password to get a reset link. Check spam folders. If it still fails, contact contact@dossimed.ai.

The sharing link does not work for my doctor

Check the link has not expired and was not revoked. Ask the doctor to copy the full link. Generate a new link and send it by SMS or email if needed. Contact contact@dossimed.ai if problems continue.

My data does not sync between devices

Confirm you use the same email on every device and have Internet access. Pull to refresh on the home screen to force sync. If it still fails after 24 hours, contact contact@dossimed.ai.
